I- and U-shaped Handles Mounted on Glass Door
This page lists JWL’s three offset U-handle sets for glass doors: the I+U, J+U and L+U sets, each pairing a full-length I, J or L handle (18 1/2″, 24 1/2″ or 30 1/2″) on the outside of the glass with a 3″ U handle on the inside, hand-welded solid 304 stainless steel projecting 2″ (51 mm) per side and fixed through the glass with M5 screws, washers and gaskets. They suit shower doors where the long bar serves as a towel bar.

J- and U-shaped Handles Mounted on Glass Door
The unique JU-OS series handle set uses the signature J handle and is designed to be simple but elegant. A two sided handle with a clean lined face and a curved inner profile at the back for a comfort grip. Handles can be mounted vertically or horizontally and can be used as a towel bar.
The handles are secured in place by M5 screws, washers and gaskets for a water tight seal. The washers take the same profile shape as the handles giving a higher level of fit and finish. Optional larger profiled escutcheon backplates are provided with each handle set for a more classic looking installation. Included is mounting hardware screw lengths that accommodate a glass thickness ranging from 1/4″[6mm] to 3/4″ [19mm].
Typical uses range from glass swing doors, bathroom shower doors as well as on any glass door that requires quality built handles.

How to choose
- Pick the outside profile: I is straight both ends, J has one rounded end, L has both ends squared
- Length of the outside bar: 24 1/2″ for most 72″–80″ shower doors; 30 1/2″ for wide panels
- The inside 3″ U handle shares one pair of holes with the outer bar, so only two holes are drilled
- Glass thickness: fits 3/8″ and 1/2″ (10–12 mm) tempered glass. Gaskets included. Holes cut before tempering
- Optional escutcheon backplates; five finishes match the rest of the bathroom hardware

Why pair a long handle with a short U handle?
The long I, J or L bar on the outside of the shower holds towels and gives a full-length grip, while the 3″ U handle on the inside gives a compact grip that stays clear of the body when showering. Both mount through the same pair of holes, so the glass is drilled once.
What glass thickness do these handles fit?
Back-to-back glass door handles are specified for 3/8″ and 1/2″ (10–12 mm) tempered glass, the standard range for frameless shower enclosures. Each set includes M5 screws, profile-matched washers and gaskets for a water-tight seal. If your glass falls outside that range, contact JWL before ordering to confirm hardware. Holes must be cut before tempering; do not drill tempered glass.
What length should the outside handle be?
Choose 24 1/2″ for most 72″–80″ tall shower doors; it holds a folded bath towel when mounted horizontally or serves as a vertical grip. Use 18 1/2″ on doors narrower than 26″ and 30 1/2″ on wide panels. The inside U handle is 3″ in every set.
Which finishes are available?
All stainless handles and pulls come in five finishes: Brushed, Polished, Matte Black, Satin Brass PVD and White. The same five finishes run across cabinet pulls, appliance handles, door handles and glass door handles, so one finish can be carried through a kitchen, bathroom and closet without mixing suppliers.
