The handle is secured in place by M5 screws, washers and gaskets for a water tight seal. The washers take the same profile shape as the handle giving a higher level of fit and finish. Optional larger profiled escutcheon backplates are provided with each handle set for a more classic looking installation. Can a shower door towel bar be single-sided?
Yes. Each single-sided handle is fixed through the glass with M5 screws, washers and gaskets, and the holes are covered on the far side by a matching back cap, so the inside of the door shows only two small caps. The bar carries towels on the outside and doubles as the handle for opening the door.
What glass thickness do these handles fit?
Back-to-back glass door handles are specified for 3/8″ and 1/2″ (10–12 mm) tempered glass, the standard range for frameless shower enclosures. Each set includes M5 screws, profile-matched washers and gaskets for a water-tight seal. If your glass falls outside that range, contact JWL before ordering to confirm hardware. Holes must be cut before tempering; do not drill tempered glass.
Which length works best as a towel bar?
A 24 1/2″ handle holds a folded bath towel and is the most common choice on 72″–80″ tall shower doors; 30 1/2″ suits wide panels and 18 1/2″ hand towels or narrow doors. Mount horizontally near the top rail for towels, or vertically as a handle.
Which finishes are available?
All stainless handles and pulls come in five finishes: Brushed, Polished, Matte Black, Satin Brass PVD and White. The same five finishes run across cabinet pulls, appliance handles, door handles and glass door handles, so one finish can be carried through a kitchen, bathroom and closet without mixing suppliers.
