Solid Wood Door Handles in White Oak and Walnut

This page lists JWL’s two solid wood door handle products: the thru-bolt single handle and the back-to-back handle pair, both made in-house in Vancouver, BC from North American white oak or walnut in a D or Round profile, narrow or wide, projecting 2″ (51 mm) in lengths of 12 5/8″, 18 5/8″, 24 5/8″ and 30 5/8″. They are used on panel-ready appliance doors, closet and pantry doors, wood swing doors and, as back-to-back pairs, on glass doors.

How to choose

  • Single-sided doors (appliance panels, closets, pantries): thru-bolt single handle
  • Doors gripped from both sides (swing, entry, glass): back-to-back pair with stainless backplates in five finishes
  • D profile matches JWL’s metal I handles; Round profile gives a softer grip
  • Narrow width suits drawer fronts and slim panels; wide width suits tall fridge and entry doors
  • Finishes: Stained Oak, Oak Clear, Walnut, Uncoated; custom lengths up to 36″ wide / 26″ narrow with a 10-unit minimum

What door thickness do wood handles fit?

Thru-bolt single wood handles fit doors 3/4″–2 1/4″ (19–57 mm) thick with the included hardware. Back-to-back pairs fit wood or solid doors of 3/4″–2 1/4″ and glass doors of 3/8″ and 1/2″ (10–12 mm) tempered. Projection is 2″ per side, or 2 3/8″ per side when the optional stainless backplates are used.

Which length should I order?

Standard lengths are 12 5/8″, 18 5/8″, 24 5/8″ and 30 5/8″. Fridge and freezer columns usually take 30 5/8″; dishwasher and drawer-freezer panels 18 5/8″ or 24 5/8″; cabinet-scale doors 12 5/8″. Custom lengths up to 36″ (wide) or 26″ (narrow) are made to order with a 10-unit minimum and 3-week lead time.

Do wood handles fit panel-ready appliances such as Sub-Zero, Thermador, Miele, Bosch or Fisher & Paykel?

Yes. The thru-bolt wood handle mounts through the millwork panel on any panel-ready fridge, freezer, dishwasher or wine fridge, including Sub-Zero, Thermador, Miele, Bosch and Fisher & Paykel. Hardware covers 3/4″–2 1/4″ panels and the handle projects 2″ from the panel face.

Oak or walnut, and which finish?

White oak is lighter with a pronounced grain and can be ordered Stained Oak, Oak Clear or Uncoated; walnut is darker and offered Walnut (clear) or Uncoated. Uncoated handles can be finished on site to match cabinetry. Custom finishes require a 50-unit minimum and 6–8 weeks.

Where are they made, and what is the warranty?

JWL wood handles are made in-house in Vancouver, BC, Canada from North American hardwood and ship in 1–3 workdays when in stock, to Canada and the US, free over $500. They carry a limited lifetime residential warranty on materials and workmanship; 1 year commercial. Full terms: jwlhome.com/warranty.
