Custom Wood and Metal Handle Options, Minimums and Lead Times
JWL Hardware makes custom-length white oak and walnut door handles up to 36″ (wide profile) or 26″ (narrow profile) with a 10-unit minimum per type and a 3-week lead time, and custom wood finishes with a 50-unit minimum and 6–8 weeks. Metal handles are not made in custom sizes; custom coatings on stainless steel are considered case by case with surcharges. Custom work suits designers, millworkers and showrooms specifying large doors or matching finishes. All custom orders are prepaid, non-refundable, and made in Vancouver, BC.

Can I get a wood handle longer than 30 5/8″?
Yes. Custom wood lengths go up to 36″ in the wide profile and 26″ in the narrow profile, with a 10-unit minimum per type, prepayment and a 3-week lead time. Lengths over 30″ are recommended only for light applications. Projection stays 2″ (51 mm) and door thickness 3/4″–2 1/4″.
Can metal handles be made in custom sizes?
No. Stainless steel handles and cabinet pulls are not offered in custom dimensions. Choose from stock overall lengths on each product page. In some cases a metal handle can be custom-coated to a specified finish with no minimum quantity; surcharges apply and JWL limits the number of such projects.
How long does a custom order take?
Custom wood lengths ship about 3 weeks after prepayment. Custom wood finishes take 6–8 weeks and require 50 units per type. Custom metal coatings are quoted individually. Stock items ship in 1–3 workdays from Vancouver, BC, so mixing stock and custom items may mean two shipments.
What does a custom wood handle cost?
Custom wood handles carry a 25%–50% surcharge over MSRP depending on quantity, plus prepayment in full. Email [email protected] with the centre-to-centre length, width (1″ or 3/4″), installation type, wood species and finish for a quote. Trade discounts do not apply to custom surcharges.
Can I return or cancel a custom order?
No. Customizations are not eligible for cancellation, refund or exchange, and altered handles cannot be returned. Confirm dimensions against the DWG or PDF spec sheet before paying. JWL’s limited lifetime residential warranty on materials and workmanship (1 year commercial for wood) applies to all products supplied and produced by JWL, custom handles included; on Uncoated wood handles it does not cover a finish applied by a third party.
