A ‘J’ + ‘L’ handle pair in hand-welded solid 304 stainless steel, mounted back-to-back through a solid door — rounded profile on one face, squared on the other — each projecting 2″ (51 mm) from its door face, in 18 1/2″, 24 1/2″ and 30 1/2″ lengths (18″, 24″ and 30″ center to center). One side of the door reads soft and the other architectural, useful where a door separates two rooms with different characters. Designed and assembled in Vancouver, BC; ships in 1–3 workdays.

The ‘J’ has one rounded end and one squared end; the ‘L’ has both ends squared. Both are the same 1″ x 1/2″ D-section bar, so the pair lines up exactly through the door. For an identical handle on both faces, see the ‘I’ back-to-back set; lengths, finishes and bar section are shared across both sets.
The two handles bolt through the door to each other through a single set of holes, with no fasteners visible on either face. Hardware for solid doors 3/4″ to 2 1/4″ thick is included. Drill at the center-to-center spacing on the DWG or PDF drawing in Downloads. Optional backplates add 3/8″ per side; for glass doors, use the ‘J’+’L’ glass back-to-back set.
Solid 304 stainless steel resists corrosion in kitchens and bathrooms. Wipe with a damp cloth and mild soap and dry. Avoid chlorine-based cleaners and abrasive pads on the coated Matte Black, Satin Brass PVD and White finishes. Check thru-fixings once a year and snug them if the door has moved.

Not on solid wood or composite doors — the handles bolt directly to each other through the door. Backplates are recommended on glass doors and wherever you want a colour-matched or split-finish ring where the handle meets the door. They add 3/8″ (9 mm) to the projection on each side.

The 24 1/2″ set (24″ center to center) is the usual choice on an 80″ door; 30 1/2″ (30″ C/C) gives a stronger vertical line on taller or wider doors; 18 1/2″ (18″ C/C) suits narrow pantry and closet doors. The set fits solid doors 3/4″–2 1/4″ (19–57 mm) thick.
All five finishes — Brushed, Polished, Matte Black, Satin Brass PVD and White — are shared across JWL door handles, back-to-back sets and cabinet pulls, so one finish can run through a whole kitchen. Brushed and Polished are bare 304 stainless; Matte Black, Satin Brass PVD and White are coatings over the stainless. Order a hardware sample if you need to check colour against your cabinetry.
