A matched pair of straight ‘I’ bar handles in hand-welded solid 304 stainless steel, mounted back-to-back through a solid door, each projecting 2″ (51 mm) from its door face, in three lengths: 18 1/2″, 24 1/2″ and 30 1/2″ (18″, 24″ and 30″ center to center). The set is identical on both faces, so the door reads the same from either room — double doors, room dividers, closet and pantry doors seen from both sides. Both handles are the ‘I’: straight at both ends on a 1″ x 1/2″ D-section bar, so each face of the door carries one uninterrupted line. For a rounded profile on one side and squared on the other, see the ‘J’+’L’ back-to-back set; both sets share the same lengths, finishes and bar section.
The two handles bolt through the door to each other through a single set of holes, with no fasteners visible on either face. Hardware for solid doors 3/4″ to 2 1/4″ thick is included. Drill at the center-to-center spacing on the DWG or PDF drawing in Downloads. Optional colour-matched or split-finish backplates add 3/8″ per side; for glass doors, use the glass back-to-back sets.
Solid 304 stainless steel resists corrosion in kitchens and bathrooms. Wipe with a damp cloth and mild soap and dry. Avoid chlorine-based cleaners and abrasive pads on the coated Matte Black, Satin Brass PVD and White finishes. Check thru-fixings once a year and snug them if the door has moved.
The 24 1/2″ set (24″ center to center) is the usual choice on an 80″ door, mounted with the grip centred about 36–42″ above the floor. Use 30 1/2″ (30″ C/C) for taller doors or a stronger vertical line, and 18 1/2″ (18″ C/C) on narrow closet or pantry doors.
No. This set is thru-bolted through solid wood or composite doors 3/4″–2 1/4″ (19–57 mm) thick. For 3/8″ and 1/2″ (10–12 mm) tempered glass doors, use the JWL glass back-to-back handle sets, which have the gaskets and fixings sized for glass.
