J & L Shaped Handles and Pull – Mounted on Glass Door
This page lists JWL’s handle-plus-pull sets for glass doors: the J, L and U sets, each pairing a J or L handle (18 1/2″, 24 1/2″ or 30 1/2″) or a 3″ U handle on the outside of the glass with a pull knob on the inside, hand-welded solid 304 stainless steel projecting 2″ (51 mm) per side and fixed through the glass with M5 screws, washers and gaskets. The long handle serves as a towel bar on shower enclosures.

U-shaped Handle and Pull – Mounted on Glass Door
The unique UP series made of solid stainless steel is commonly used on swing doors where a smaller minimalistic handle is required. The U handle is often used as a smaller towel ring as well as a handle on glass swing doors.
The handle is secured in place by M5 screws, washers and gaskets for a water tight seal. The washers take the same profile shape as the handle giving a higher level of fit and finish. An optional larger profiled escutcheon backplate is provided with each handle for a more classic looking installation. Included is mounting hardware screw lengths that accommodate a glass thickness ranging from 1/4″[6mm] to 3/4″ [19mm].

Which side does the handle go on?
The J, L or U handle mounts on the outside of the shower enclosure, where it doubles as a towel bar, and the pull knob mounts on the inside so nothing long projects into the shower. Both parts share one hole, so the glass is drilled once. Projection is 2″ (51 mm) on each face.
What glass thickness do these handles fit?
Back-to-back glass door handles are specified for 3/8″ and 1/2″ (10–12 mm) tempered glass, the standard range for frameless shower enclosures. Each set includes M5 screws, profile-matched washers and gaskets for a water-tight seal. If your glass falls outside that range, contact JWL before ordering to confirm hardware. Holes must be cut before tempering; do not drill tempered glass.
What length should I choose for the outside handle?
Most 72″–80″ tall shower doors take a 24 1/2″ J or L handle, which holds a folded bath towel when mounted horizontally. Choose 18 1/2″ for narrow doors and 30 1/2″ for wide panels. The U set uses a fixed 3″ handle for doors where a towel bar is not needed.
Which finishes are available?
All stainless handles and pulls come in five finishes: Brushed, Polished, Matte Black, Satin Brass PVD and White. The same five finishes run across cabinet pulls, appliance handles, door handles and glass door handles, so one finish can be carried through a kitchen, bathroom and closet without mixing suppliers.
