JWL Hardware’s Limited Commercial Warranty

At JWL Hardware Ltd. (dba “JWL”, “JWL Home”), we are committed to producing premium architectural hardware that blends design integrity with reliable performance.

Subject to exclusions noted below, we offer a:

1 year Limited Commercial Warranty on wood products

5 year Limited Commercial Warranty on brushed stainless steel products

2 year Limited Commercial Warranty on coated stainless steel products

Warranty is extended only to the original commercial purchaser (“Original Owner”) of JWL Hardware products (“Product”) for defects in materials or workmanship (see details below). This warranty is valid only while the Original Owner or Entity owns and occupies the commercial or business property where the Product was initially installed.

Covered Under This Warranty

This warranty includes products purchased directly via jwlhome.com or from an authorized JWL dealer, designer, or trade partner.

This warranty covers:

1. Functional mounting components, not including claims related to installation or other exclusions noted below. Examples of functional mounting components include:
   1. Corner bracket strength
   2. Screw mounting hole formation
   3. Backplate mounting hardware
   4. Set screw stability
2. Finishes (subject to exclusions noted below).

This warranty is exclusively for commercial use, is non-transferable, and does not extend to subsequent owners of commercial installations.

Exclusions – What’s Not Covered

This warranty does not cover:

• Coated or polished metal finishes used for heavy traffic or industrial applications (e.g. warehouses, automotive or manufacturing facilities, restaurant kitchens, public saunas and pools, mall doors, etc.).
• Wood products with a coloured stain (i.e. any wood stains other than a clear coat).
• Labor or installation expenses, including removal and reinstallation.
• Any freight, customs, or shipping fees related to warranty service.
• Damage due to abuse, misuse, modification, improper installation, or lack of upkeep.
• Environmental exposure, including excessive humidity, coastal air, harsh cleaners, or corrosive chemicals.
• Normal wear and tear, including fading, minor scratches, surface blemishes, or patina changes due to age or use.
  • Note:
    • Subtle shifts in tone, patina or grain over time are natural and not considered defects.
    • Wood products require refinishing from time-to-time. Refinishing requirements are based on usage and environmental factors and are not covered under this warranty.
• Performance claims including, but not limited to:
  • Weight load or pull bearing strength
  • Fire spreadability
  • Theft prevention
• Claims that may otherwise be covered under insurance policies (e.g. property or business insurance).
• Incidental or consequential damages.

Customizations, whether provided by JWL Hardware or a third-party.

Making a Warranty Claim

To initiate a claim:

1. Contact your point of purchase, or reach out to us at [email protected].
2. Include a short description and photograph of the issue, along with proof of purchase (receipt, invoice, or purchase confirmation).

Please note that in some cases, we may request the item be returned for evaluation.

What We’ll Do

Following a review of the returned item, JWL Hardware Ltd. will determine the appropriate course of action, which may include:

• Repairing the defective product,
• Replacing it with a similar or equivalent item, or
• Issuing a refund for the original purchase price.

The chosen remedy will be at the sole discretion of JWL Hardware Ltd.

Warranty Limitations

This warranty is strictly limited to the original cost of the product. JWL Hardware Ltd. is not liable for any incidental or consequential damages, including but not limited to personal injury, time loss, project delays, or associated materials and or labor.

THE COMPANY MAKES NO OTHER WARRANTY OTHER THAN AS EXPRESSLY STATED HEREIN, AND ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING ANY WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ARE HEREBY EXCLUDED. THE COMPANY’S MAXIMUM LIABILITY HEREUNDER IS LIMITED TO THE PURCHASE PRICE OF THE PRODUCT. IN NO EVENT SHALL THE COMPANY BE LIABLE FOR ANY CONSEQUENTIAL, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL OR SPECIAL AND/OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES OF ANY NATURE ARISING FROM THE SALE OR USE OF THE PRODUCT, WHETHER BASED ON CONTRACT, WARRANTY, TORT, STRICT LIABILITY, PATENT INFRINGEMENT, OR OTHERWISE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

Please note: some regions may not permit exclusions of certain types of damages, so these limitations may not apply in all cases.
